Re: * EST3-SDU Software - v3.51, v3.61, v3.72, hasp key che
The difference between the different versions of the SDU are in the Release Notes, thats why the release notes are posted.
Once a new version is release I would wait a year before using it.
Upgrading to the latest version is not always easy . I was using 3.70 up to last week, when I EVAC a building due to an un-programmed supv device that was tripped during a download. In my case I have 2 other techs that need to be able to program this and all our other sites, so we all need to be on the same SDU.
When you upgrade your computer/laptop, you will need to upgrade each site to the new SDU also.
(( Read the Release Notes, it will give you a good step by step on how to do it.))
It can be a little un-nerving. CPU, SDDC and SDU all have versions so how do they all come together. The last thing you want to do is hose a customers fire alarm system.
So we tend to let sleeping dogs lie, which is not always the best thing. sometimes we need not to be lazy and grow a set of balls and do what we know needs to be done and I am included in that.
