Date: April, 2000 - Subject: Duct Smoke Detectors configured as Supervisory

Introduction
This application describes the steps necessary to configure Duct Smoke detectors to operate as supervisory devices. In this application the detectors when alarmed will not appear as an alarm device but instead appear as a ‘SUPERVISORY ACTIVE’ in the supervisory queue.

System Requirements: - SDU 1.52 or higher

Programming Steps:
Configuring AND GROUP:- (Supervisory)
1. Create an AND group(s) with Activation number of one (1).
2. Select smoke (duct) detectors for the AND Group (Limit one per AND group if the AND Group Message is to be used to indicate the detector in alarm and to provide resounding at the 3-LCD for each new Duct Smoke activation).
3. Select Q1 Alarm for ‘Devices in Selected Group’.
4. Choose Q2 Supervisory for ‘Activation Event’.
With this configuration its also necessary to create an AND Group(s) in order to annunciate device troubles for the Duct Smoke Detectors.

Configuring AND GROUP:- (Device Trouble)

1. Create an AND group(s) with Activation number of one (1).
2. Select smoke (duct) detectors for the AND Group (Limit one per AND group if
the AND Group Message is to be used to indicate the detector in trouble and to
provide resounding at the 3-LCD for each new Duct Smoke trouble activation).
3. Select Q3 Trouble for ‘Devices in Selected Group’.
4. Choose Q3 Trouble for ‘Activation Event’.

Configuring Message Routing:-
1. Change Objects (Duct Smoke(s) Only) Alt_Routing_Message to ‘No_Cabinets’.
2. Enter AND Group messages as you like them to appear in the 3-LCD display.

Configuring Rules:-
1. Create Startup Rule:
[STARTUP]
STUP: ALTMON 'ALL_CABINETS';
2. Write rules to activate LED, relays, etc. for the AND statements if needed.



Notes:
3-OPS module will indicate an Alarm condition whenever the smoke (Duct)
detector is activated.
3-CPU(1) Alarm contact will activate whenever the smoke (Duct) detector is
activated.
Limit 499 AND Groups per network.
All Smoke (Duct) detectors could be placed in the same AND Group however, in
order to review the device(s) message(s) the Expanded Message button must be
selected.
